DEADLINE: How did you get involved withAll Quiet on the Western Front?

The second thing is he wants to have something for Paul Baumers stomach, which is the main protagonist.

DEADLINE: Thats very specific.

BERTELMANN: Yeah, its very specific.

Even though it may not sound different than today, there would be some connection to that time.

DEADLINE: I cant get over the snare played by someone whos never played the snare before.

How do you achieve that sound?

A lot of instruments Im playing sometimes are very rudimental.

But Im a big fan of both worlds.

Ive never recorded so many snares before, just to find the tone of it.

Do you want to have a metal snare, a wooden snare?

Do we want to have something that sounds very high?

Do we want something that sounds more military?

DEADLINE: How do you balance the score with the explosion and gunshot sound effects happening during the battles?
