My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President.

Names like Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer were quickly floated.
Newsom and Whitmer had already indicated that they would not do so.
