Los Angeles Unified School District has announced school closures for Monday, August 21 followingTropical StormHilary.

Tomorrow there will be no schools, Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said during a press conference on Sunday afternoon.

Schools are expected to open and resume normal activities on Tuesday, August 22.

The statement continued, This was not an easy decision.

These are imminent and major safety hazards.

To ensure continuity of learning, we have taken multiple steps to provide lessons and activities for students.

Teachers will be asked to provide activities and resources on Schoology by 10:30 a.m.

In addition, instructional resources are available at LAUSD.org, and KLCS will provide educational programming.
