Im just like, I dont know, because I dont want them.

I just dont read scripts this funny that often.
Jamie was the original writer and then we worked on it together, and its just so punchy.
It just feels like a show I would watch, and Im really selective about comedy.
GLASER: Or eat ice cream when theyre sad, yeah.
DEADLINE: They would never ever be friends.
GLASER: Its just so funny that that was sold to us as what defines true friendship.
I found so many flaws with it.
DEADLINE: Youre on yourAlive and Unwelltour right now.
GLASER: Its great.
I tour with my best friends.
My tour manager and my openers are all my best friends.
My boyfriend comes out with me.
I get to bring my dog.
I look at my schedule and people go, How can you do that?
Im just like, This is just what my life is.
I dont really know any different and its not as exhausting as it seems.
Its actually really fun.
And I sleep on planes very easily.
I feel a freedom in travel.
And then I love hotels.
I love just being somewhere one night and I love the process of building a new act.
DEADLINE: What did you think of Tom Brady saying his kids feelings had been hurt by the roast?
I feel like the implication was that you had directly done damage.
But you were hired to do the job of roasting him.
And what did I say about his kids?
I guess I said he lost his family?
DEADLINE: You didnt say anything directly about his kids.
You said stuff about his marriage breakdown.
There was a little bit of backlash.
Im a team player.
If someone wouldve said, Dont say something, I wouldve not said it.
And I simply wasnt told not to say things.
And so, I just think that thats not Toms fault.
He probably just didnt think people would go where they went, including me.
And so, he didnt even know that he was supposed to say, Dont say those things.
I imagine he wasnt prepared, but I did feel bad.
I dont like being mean when its not allowed.
I can be like, Well, you asked for it.
Look at the way you were dressed.
I have that scapegoat in it, but I did feel bad.
And Im like, its not even going to get to him.
No ones going to let me write to him.
Hes not going to see some statement I put out.
DEADLINE: Its all in the title.
I just did what I was asked.
They move on very quickly from things.
And so, I think its a very similar thing.
DEADLINE: Thats an interesting parallel.
DEADLINE: You said sorry a bunch of times during the roast.
I just started doing it because it was what I felt in the moment.
DEADLINE: Because he was there in the room, because you were looking at him.
GLASER: That too.
I dont want to run into him again.
They go after the thing no one wants to see, like, Lets drag that into the light.
When did you become aware of that in yourself?
I think growing up in a house and in a family where alcohol was consumed a lot…
I think that was the root of it.
A lot of, Why do you think that way?
Less of, Wow, youre so funny, and more like, Thats weird.
DEADLINE: It seems like the next step for you would be to host some awards shows.

That was such a scary thing to do.
