Cast and crew are returning from far-flung locations.

Strikes are always instruments of last resort.

No one wants to shut down the industry.

The realities of a strike are hard on all of us.

Despite these realities, SAG-AFTRAs member solidarity is stronger than ever.

Our 160,000 members voted 98% yes to authorize this strike.

What we are really talking about here is worker livelihoods vs. studio profits.

Actors made a median salary of $46,960 in 2021, with the lower quartile at $30,040.

At the same time, studio profits have ballooned to over $12 billion per year.

Its inherently unfair that, as our industry grows, middle-class acting is becoming less sustainable as a career.

In 2023, we must do more than just change the conversation.

These are among the key issues that the studios have refused to move on.

But they are essential as part of a fair deal.

SAG-AFTRA will always fight for the dignity of our members.

SAG-AFTRA will always stand strong and united until a transformative agreement is achieved.

And SAG-AFTRA will never apologize for demanding the fair and equitable deal our members rightfully deserve.

Studios and workers can both win.

This doesnt need to be a zero-sum game.

Lets move forward to a better future of respect for all workers.
